Online Gambling Casinos Case Arguments Heard by Kentucky Supreme Court

Online gambling proponents say Gov. Steve Beshear is moving against a national tide with his effort to block Kentuckians from visiting Internet casinos. This case involves a Writ of Prohibition preventing seizure of 141 Internet domain names. We have decided to publish the video from these oral arguments.

  • For Appellant: David Eric Lycan, William Cecil Hurt, Jr., William Harvey May and Aaron Davis Reedy

This is perhaps one of the worst abuses of the legal process I have read. Secret hearings, sealed evidence, and a complete lack of legal basis for action. This is a blatant attempt to protect Kentucky's own gaming interest given recent failures by the legislature to extend it. I do not see how the Supreme Court could not uphold the Writ issued by the Court of Appeals.
