Thomson Reuters’ first iPhone application, Black’s Law Dictionary, makes that venerable, but hardly portable, legal dictionary portable. Officially for sale on iTunes for a whopping $49.99, the application is the first of what is sure to be a series of applications put out by Thomson Reuters.
The price seems rather high for something which, while providing easy access to legal terms and phrases, is still not something a lawyer has been caught wishing he had on his iPhone. Black’s Law Dictionary will provide not only the same definitions of legal terms and phrases, but also embedded audio of the same information. These definitions are taken from the 8th edition of the Black’s Law Dictionary.
The application does not require an Internet connection, which means all of you who purchased an 8GB iPhone rather than a 16GB are going to start feeling the pinch as more and more apps store all of their information on your phone. To download the application, click here.
