1 Billion Chinese Can't Be Wrong

2008 Olympic GamesWindows Vista took another setback as the Olympic organizing committee in Beijing announced they will not be using Windows Vista for the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. Lenovo Computers, the company which purchased IBM’s Thinkpad line of notebooks and the official computer sponsor and supplier, cited Windows Vista as “too risky” and unstable to rely upon during the 2008 Olypmic games with the other 5/6 of the world’s population’s eyes on China.

Instead of Vista, all critical systems will be running the tried and true Windows XP, save for terminal computers for athletes to access e-mail and the Internets.

While I don’t claim my law office’s computing environment is necessarily as vital as the Olympic games, if Windows Vista isn’t good enough for Beijing, where it costs .50 cents from a “reputable vendor” on Dongzhimen Nei Avenue, it’s not good enough for me to entrust my practice and client’s information.
