Law in a Flash – iPhone Law School Flashcards

Modality Inc. creates a large line of study aides for medical and legal students and now they’ve brought their flash cards to the iPhone/iPod with their Law in a Flash series of iTunes Apps. These applications extensively cover Criminal Procedure, Torts, Corporations, Criminal Law, Federal Income Tax, Professional Responsibility and Wills & Trusts. This is a great resource for law students on the go needing to study as much as they can for exams and/or the Bar exam. The application allows users to take notes within the program, bookmark cards and put cards into shuffle mode for quick study. Each subject is $39.99 and is well-worth the cost. We’ve posted screen-captures from Criminal Procedure to give you an idea of the program.

Cards are sorted by category.

Each card has full answers and cites.

Card questions are modeled after Multi-State Bar Exam.

Cards by Topic.

Each card allows notes to be taken and displayed at bottom of card.

Seems like an excellent idea, but $40/per subject is pretty freaking steep. Look at the other apps in the iTunes store — very few are more than a couple bucks, and almost none cost more than $10. Why does everything law-related have to be so ridiculously expensive!?

Excellent ideas typically come with a price tag to match unfortunately.

The flashcards are great for students studying as well as attorneys looking to keep fresh on areas of the law.

Great idea. Must become an instant hit with the student fraternity. I believe it is a little highly priced.
